Professorship (m/f/d) for
Applied Geoinformatics Grade W2 (LBesG)

In principle, job sharing is possible.

We are looking for a scientific person with a practical and interdisciplinary application background who is happy to contribute expertise and professional experience to the education of students and to enrich the university with their own research and transfer activities.

The area of responsibility includes in particular:

  • Competency-oriented teaching in basic subjects on geoinformatics, applied computer science and information systems based on the requirements of professional practice
  • Supervision of theses
  • The development and establishment of a separate focus in research and teaching

In addition, we expect:

  • Willingness to use innovative teaching concepts and their development using digital media and technologies as well as enjoy training our students
  • Conducting courses also during the evenings, Saturdays and outside regular lecture hours
  • Collaboration in the development of study programs and in academic self-government
  • The acquisition and implementation of — preferably interdisciplinary — third-party funding projects
  • Networking with companies, associations and other institutions in the field
  • Active involvement in maintaining and expanding our (international) network at partner universities
  • Continuous education in higher education didactics

This is what you bring with you:

  • A successfully completed university degree in geoinformatics or a related discipline
  • Special ability to do scientific work, which is usually proven by a qualified, relevant doctorate
  • Special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professionally relevant practice, which should have been carried out for at least three years outside the higher education sector
  • Pedagogical aptitude, which is usually proven by experience in teaching, training or corresponding continuing education in higher education
  • Project experience in the field of applied geoinformatics
  • Ability to develop and implement your own research ideas
  • Ability to conduct courses in German and English
