As a reinforcement for our innovative teams that develop and operate new applications, we are precisely looking for SHE! We are a technically oriented authority with more than 2,000 employees in the division of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport. We are an official partner and service provider for geodata for administrations, commercial enterprises and citizens in Lower Saxony. These include real estate cadastre, geodetic spatial reference, geotopography, real estate valuation and disposal of weapons. Our organization has begun to modernize its software landscape in order to be the central geodata service provider for the state of Lower Saxony even in the digital age.

We are looking for a software architect to join the AI team. The team develops pioneering services for automatic geodata analysis with artificial intelligence and provides solutions that positively support users through understandable and explanatory AI. The solutions are cloud-native, transparent and embedded in LGLN's microservice architecture.

The final assignment of tasks and thus the tariff evaluation are based on personal professional qualifications.

What do you bring with you:

• Master of Computer Science, Business Informatics, Geodesy/Geoinformatics or another IT-related subject
• Practical experience in machine learning in cloud environments (AWS,...)
• Understanding microservice architectures and cloud-based software development and dealing with container and orchestration technologies
• (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of current Python libraries in the area of machine learning, e.g. pytorch, tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy
• Good written and oral language skills in German and English, comparable with language level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (GER)
• Experience with agile principles and Scrum values

Your activities:

• Development and operation of a cloud infrastructure for current and future LGLN machine learning applications
• Independent implementation of tasks as part of software development according to Scrum
• Design and implementation of open source solutions to scale the tasks of the AI team (ML-DevOps)
• Exploring and monitoring developments in machine learning for geodata analysis (open source and cloud native first)
• Presentations in teams, organization-wide and at conferences
• Participation in the software architecture competence group (community of practice)
• It is used by the “AI team”
